News: Exciting Days at Mission Arlington

Thursday, August 23, 2012 6:24 PM

If you have been around Mission Arlington® for any length of time, you likely already know that 1,000 people, six days each week, come through our front doors for help.  This is the equivalent of about 200 families per day.

However, as school begins again next week, the number of people accessing our services has increased significantly.  On two consecutive days this week, 300 and 350 families came through our front doors for help.

Many of these families are parents coming in to pick up their children’s school supplies.  In the end, Mission Arlington® will distribute school supplies to about 9,000 of our community’s students.

These are exciting days around Mission Arlington®.  We find ourselves grateful and excited.  We are grateful for the constant, sacrificial ways our community provides for people in need.  We are excited every day to give away what we have.

We wish you could see the smiles on faces of children and their parents as their needs are met.  If it is true, as we believe it is, that it is more blessed to give than to receive, then we are truly a blessed people.

If you have time during these days before Summer and through the start of school, come see us.  Lend a helping hand while you are here, or just stop by to feel the excitement that is happening in this place.

Thank you for the privilege of this partnership in His Name!
