News: A Pot of Gold
Thursday, August 13, 2009 5:00 AMWhat is it?
Rainbow Express is Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex’s version of a backyard Bible club. Hosted weekly from Spring Break through the end of the Summer, our community’s children enjoy crafts, songs, snacks, games, and Bible stories. Rainbow Express has been happening twice a day in apartment communities all over our city.
How Many Came?
To date, Mission Arlington has hosted Rainbow Express in 401 locations. 14, 565 different children and youth have attended so far. Total attendance has grown to nearly 31,000 people altogether.
Who Helped?
143 Student groups (junior high, high school, and college) from all across North America, came to Mission Arlington to lend a helping hand. Through the summer months, Mission Arlington hosted more than 300 students on our campus every week. What a wonderful experience this has been. During Spring Break of this last year, the Mission Arlington family hosted 906 students. So far, 3,852 people have stayed in Mission Arlington’s donated housing.
What are the results?
For four days each week, over a 2 and 1/2 hour period each day, Mission Arlington had the opportunity of playing with our community’s young people, while teaching them the Bible. They heard Bible stories, and received a lot of love from the students who led these events. In the end, 1047 children and youth accepted Christ as their savior.
Thank you
Thank you so much for all you do to support Mission Arlington. Your phone calls, e-mails, and personal notes of support mean so much to us. Thank you especially for the way you continue to give, to serve, and to support financially our work here. Rainbow Express is one way that God has allowed us to care for the young people in our community.
Praise His Name!
