Birthday Cakes Make A Difference

For some reason, the Mission Arlington food pantry only had two birthday cakes on that day.  Usually, there were more to give away.

Tammy, the volunteer working the food pantry, began to pray.  She wanted to make sure that the birthday cakes went to exactly the right person.

A little later in the morning, a single mom came to the food pantry door, her young child in tow. Tammy asked her if she would like to have a birthday cake.  Instantly, tears began to stream down the young mom’s face.

Times were tough at home, and money was tight.  There was barely enough money to pay the bills. The young boy’s birthday was the next day, but there wasn’t enough money for a cake.  Earlier that morning, the mom had asked God for help. She held the cake and cried.

It is amazing how such a small thing - like a birthday cake - can mean so much. God provided a birthday cake for the right person at just the right time.

The Mission Arlington family thanks God for the way that He provides for His people.  We thank Him for the person who gave the cake, and for volunteers like Tammy who prayerfully and carefully get the food to people in need.

Praise His Name!
