The ministries of Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex are expanding steadily, and on many different fronts. The ministries just keep growing.
On the Front Lines
Yesterday, 270 different families came through Mission Arlington’s front doors, requesting emergency assistance. With an average of about 4 people per family, this means that through Mission Arlington / Mission Metroplex, you provided food, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance to nearly 1,100 people yesterday.
In the Bible Studies and Congregations
One of Mission Arlington’s leaders shared this week that 70 people attended Bible study and worship in the club house of an apartment congregation this past Sunday - more than ever before. This story is being repeated across the spectrum of volunteer Bible study leaders for Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex.
Mission Arlington, in its 24th year, now hosts 292 Bible studies and congregations across our community. Salvations, rededication, and spiritual growth is the norm for most of these active places of worship. Many of those who first accepted Christ in these places are becoming teachers and leaders themselves.
In Health Services
The volunteers medical doctors at the Dr. Bob Mann medical clinic are treating more people than ever before. The clinic has recently added a diabetes prevention program which is successfully helping people discover potential health problems early.
The Allan Saxe dental clinic continues to treat record numbers of people. Volunteer dentists and hygienists this past month provided $123,000 worth of free dental care to patients - more than ever before.
In Community Support
Even in these difficult economic times, people continue to give through Mission Arlington. Food, clothing, household items, and furniture continue to pour in, so that people can be ok. More volunteer groups have come to lend a helping hand this year than ever before.
Much More to Come!
We are excited and prayerful as we come up to the last few months of the year. We know that more people will need help than in previous years, and we are getting ready.
Gratitude
Mission Arlington is grateful for the opportunity to serve our Lord and to love the people in this community. Your prayers and support are making a huge difference here. We are grateful.
