News: Happy Fourth of July
Wednesday, July 04, 2012 8:16 AM
Our Summit youth camp is still going on this morning. One hundred twenty youth are enjoying a full-fledged youth camp in central Arlington.
At the same time, Mission Arlington’s Rainbow Express is still on the move today. Student groups are here from around the nation, and moving through out the community today to teach God’s word to children and youth. 356 young people have been in attendance so far in 18 places this week.
Mission Arlington will be open again after this morning’s downtown parade, and people who still need help with food or other kinds of emergency assistance will be able to get help.
On this fourth of July morning, we are hosting the SJ Stovall breakfast for summer missionaries and Mission Arlington congregations. SJ Stovall was Mayor of Arlington, and the Chairman of Mission Metroplex’s board for many years. He was the initial and long time sponsor of this morning’s breakfast. We honor his memory this morning as we eat breakfast and then watch the parade together.
If you are downtown this morning, come on by to see us. We’re here, grateful for the celebrations of this day.
Blessings to you from the Mission Arlington family on Independence day.
