People to People at Mission Arlington

The young air conditioning technician had his head in his hands in Mission Arlington’s front room. He was attempting to hold back the tears.  He hadn’t worked in some time, and he had no where else to turn. His options were gone.  He was grateful to receive food from Mission Arlington, but so embarrased to ask. The Mission Arlington counselor sat with this young man for a very long time.

Mission Arlington is about so much more than food and clothing. Those who come through our front doors are not numbers, but real people with genuine heartaches, hopes and dreams.

We want to listen to and pray with each one who finds their way to us. People are important to us here at Mission Arlington, because they are important to God.

The Mission Arlington family thinks routinely about protecting and preserving people’s dignity. Our records are confidential, so no one will ever know that someone needed to access our services. The ministry we provide supports families, so that they can support themselves.

On Thanksgiving day, the food is delivered early, so that no one in their family knows that it came from us.  Christmas toys are provided, so that families don’t have to choose between Christmas for their kids and paying their bills.  And on it goes.

One lady received help from Mission Arlington some time ago now. The way she received help here led her to exclaim, “I’ve got my dignity back.”

The air conditioning technition walked out of Mission Arlington that day with a smile on his face, and hope in his heart.  His problems weren’t gone, of course, but he felt better.  He knew that he wasn’t alone, and that someone cared.

Thank you so much for the way you support people through the work and ministry of Mission Arlington.  Your faithfulness is making a difference here.
