News: Free Sealants for Children
Saturday, October 13, 2012 0:57 PM
Dozens of children, ages 5 to 15, are here at the Mission ArlingtonAllan Saxe Dental Clinic today receiving free sealants.
Sealants are thin protective plastic coatings that cover and protect the chewing surfaces of back teeth.
Sealants are painless and easy to apply. When a child’s permanent molars come in, usually around ages 6 to 14, parents should consider having sealants applied.
Research has shown that using sealants are effectve in reducing chewing surface decay while maintaining good home care.
This “Free Sealant Day” is provided by the volunteer Registered Dental Hygienists, Student Dental Hysgienists, and Dentists. It is sponsored by the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Greater Fort Worth Dental Hygienists’ Society.
The Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex family is grateful for the way our community comes together to make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
