News: God’s hands on heartsSaturday, July 07, 2012 9:17 AM
I have seen God’s hands in every aspect of Mission Arlington.
God has his hands in those who contribute food to the hungry, evident any time we run low on any kind of food item and immediately have the means to restock.
God has his hands on those who work to sort donations, because he gives us a spirit of compassion to help the needy find specific housewares, provides opportunities for us to share our testimonies and grants strength with various community service volunteers who work alongside us for days at a time.
God’s hands are evident as we work in the front room of the mission, ministering to the broken-hearted while finding out how we can best meet their needs.
However, the biggest way that I have seen the Lord move is in the hearts of the young children to whom we minister. Their hearts are incredibly precious, full of love but also touched with a longing for a better life. I feel so blessed that I have been able to hold them close and guide them to the love of God.
One little boy asked me to help him accept Jesus into his heart. I was able to sit with him and listen to his little’s heart’s questions and desires and then lead him to the Lord.
My favorite part of every day is the moment when my kids run into my arms and embrace me with their tiny hands or break out into a huge smile as soon as they see my face. The Lord’s grace and love surges through our Bible studies.
I praise God every moment I walk into Mission Arlington. It truly is a holy place that serves God wholeheartedly, and his hands hold it together every second.
