News: On the East Side

In East Arlington, eight apartment complexes are loosely united into one church.
A team of thirteen workers hold Bible Studies and after school tutoring programs seven days a week throughout the complexes.
Children and youth from all of these complexes attend gym nights, day camps, and basketball tournaments in one big group.
Working with the Eastside Bible Studies provides multiple challenges, but a lot of prayer and a good sense of humor keeps it fun.
Some of the youth, like they do in a lot of Mission Arlington churches, have stepped up and become leaders themselves. They teach Bible Stories to children and help with the teaching at the after-school programs.
This July, the youth are having a combined mission trip and discipleship weekend late in the month. They will be staying overnight in Grand Prairie and doing Rainbow Express in two locations.
In order to go on the mission trip, the youth must build points based on Bible Study attendence, assistance with other summer programs, and Bible verse memory.
Thank God for the way he is moving in East Arlington. Pray that the community will continue to grow in Christ.
