News: Called into action!

Saturday, August 30, 2008 7:59 PM

On Saturday afternoon, August 30th, The City of Arlington’s emergency management team called on a team of churches and non-profits in Arlington to shelter residents who already are in route to the metroplex because of hurricane Gustav.

The mission spent Saturday afternoon, with the help of Arlington’s firefighters, getting everything ready.

Cots, blankets, pillows, and toiletries already are in place to facilitate the first wave of evacuees.

Mission Arlington’s shelters may be needed as early as Sunday night, though the timing of everything is still too difficult to predict.

Mission Arlington is grateful for all those who stand with us, ready to help.  Your support always has made the difference here.

We are grateful.

Keep checking back at the Mission Arlington website for announcements, and for information about ways that you can lend a helping hand.
