Mission Arlington’s “Front Room” in the 1990s
Mission Arlington began on August 1st, 1986. This month, Mission Arlington turns 21 and begins its 22nd year of ministry.
Bible Studies
Tillie Burgin is the founder and director of Mission Arlington. In the early days of the ministry, Tillie realized that many people felt disconnected from church, for a variety of reasons. If people weren’t going to come to church, Tillie believed that the church should be taken to the people.
Today, Mission Arlington hosts 265 different Bible studies each week. They meet in apartment communities, neighborhood homes, mobile home parks, and anywhere else that people are open.
Ministries
Early on the Mission Arlington family understood that it was important to meet people at their point of need. Today, more than 150 families a day, six days each week, come through Mission Arlington’s front door. People can receive food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, medical / dental attention, and much more. Last year, more than 177,000 people received help from Mission Arlington.
Volunteers
Mission Arlington is surrounded by an amazing community of giving people. More than 2,500 people each week give their time to help Mission Arlington care for people in need. The generosity of our community is also evident. People give freely, so that other’s can have clothes, beds, refrigerators, couches and more. Our community also provides the financial support needed to provide care for hurting people.
Into the Future
Mission Arlington belongs to the Lord. He created this unique ministry, and He sustains it day by day. The Mission Arlington family is grateful for the support of this wonderful community, and they look to the Lord as He takes them day by day into the future.
Praise His Name!
