Stories: Rainbow Express Begins Again
Wednesday, May 13, 2009May-June Rainbow Express
More than 1,500 students will arrive in Arlington during May and June to lead Rainbow Express.
The Fun Begins Again
Rainbow Express began again this week. Two college groups, finished with their semester of studying, came to Arlington quickly to help us take the love of Christ out to the children and youth of our community.
What is Rainbow Express?
Rainbow Express is a creative and fun way to share the love of Jesus Christ throughout the neighborhoods of our city. A Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex Rainbow Express involves Bible stories, crafts, games, singing, and snacks, on Monday through Thursday of each week. The May-June Rainbow Express emphasizes following Jesus.
Who helps?
Students from the University of Texas at Tyler, and the University of Texas at Permian Basin have been in Arlington this week teaching the Bible to the young people in our community.
Where are they coming from?
1,500 students are coming to Arlington from several different states: Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida, and Mississippi. These student groups are also coming from several Texas towns: Buna, League City, Marshall, Pampa, and Sandia.
Thank you so much
By the end of this summer, we anticipate that approximately 14,000 different young people will attend Rainbow Express at least once. We also anticipate that total attendance will top 26,000 again this year.
The Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex family is so grateful for your constant support. Your prayers, gifts of time and money, and so much more, make such a difference here.
