Stories: “We were happy!”

It was a Friday, and I was in school. The bell was about to ring. Then, at 3:20, the bell rang and I got my backpack from my locker and left school.
I got to my apartments and changed clothes to go with Miss Rebecca, the Bible study leader at our apartment complex. I went to the Mission Arlington apartment and said hello to Polo, Alexandra and Tito who were already there.
I played some games with them for an hour. Then, Miss Rebecca told me that we were finally going to go to work at Mission Arlington.
We were happy!
Miss Rebecca took us to work at Mission Arlington. When we entered, everyone was happy because they needed help carrying a lot of boxes. Polo, Alexandra, Tito, Dulce, Laura and I started picking up boxes to take them upstairs.
Then we went downstairs to pick up more boxes. Mrs. Tillie (Mission Arlington’s Director) asked us to pick up children’s books and put them on shelves in the front room, so we did that. When we were finished, we stacked the front room chairs in piles of four.
Miss Rebecca told us that they needed help taking care of children, so we went running to the day care. We read to them, played with them, and even watched a movie with them. They were very happy. Then, their moms came to pick them up.
We started picking everything up, because it was time to leave. When we finished cleaning everything, the place was spotless. When we left Mission Arlington, Miss Rebecca dropped us off at the apartments.
That is one thing that was nice. And I didn’t expect anything back. I was happy I had worked at Mission Arlington!
