Stories: From Mission Trip to Missionary

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Julvon at Mission ArlingtonJulvon started coming to Mission Arlington from her home in Houston when she was 13 years old.  She came to serve here each year with her church youth group.

When she arrived at Mission Arlington each summer, Julvon would help with various work projects (i.e., food and clothing), Rainbow Express, and more. She fell in love with what she saw God doing here.

As soon as she would get home each year, Julvon immediately began looking forward to next year’s mission trip.

In her sophomore year of college, this precious young lady felt God calling her to the Mission full time. She called Tillie Burgin, and within two weeks, she was helping people in the front room. Julvon is looking foward to helping with Rainbow Express at Spring Break - and so much more. The Mission Arlington family is so grateful for her.

As more than 1,200 students head to Arlington for Spring Break, we realize that there may be future missionaries just like Julvon in their midst.

Already, we are praying for each team and for each group that comes our way.  They will impact our community in significant ways. These students will take what they see here back to their own communities to make a difference.

And who knows?  Perhaps one day many of these young people will be back to serve the Lord here “full time” - just like Julvon.

Praise His Name!
